Enrollment/Application Process
The following is an explanation of our application process:
Application
Complete, sign, and submit an application with a non-refundable $100.00 application fee by January 11, 2008. Please include a copy of your child’s birth certificate and a recent photo of your child. We ask that you sign the enclosed Release Form on the last page of the application permitting us to contact your child’s current teacher. MWJDS will send a Student Evaluation form to the contact indicated on the Release Form. Please note that the application fee will not be applied to tuition. Please refer to our Guide to the Admissions Process and Admissions Checklist for important information about the application process.
Screening
After we receive the application, we will arrange a time to meet with you and your child. A member of our school faculty will help us assess your child’s skill level. Screenings for all applicants will be held in February and will take approximately 30 minutes. The information gathered during the screening and the records received from each student’s current school will help us assure that your child will have a positive experience at MWJDS. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required after the successful screening which will be applied toward your child’s tuition.
Tuition
Tuition for the 2007-2008 academic year is:
- Kindergarten: $13,150
- Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5: $14,350
Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year will be set in January 2008. A family’s ability to pay tuition is not a factor in the admissions decision. Through an independent process provided by the National Association of Independent Schools, our Tuition Assistance Committee will work to offer assistance to families for whom tuition costs are not realistically affordable. Tuition assistance applications must be submitted no later than February 15, 2008, and will require a copy of your completed 2007 Federal Income Tax Return. Notification of tuition assistance will be by mid-April.
The deadline for applications is January 11, 2008. Applications received after this date will be considered if space allows. Priority will be given to siblings. Enrollment contracts will be sent out in April, 2008, and are due back by May 16, 2008. All materials should be sent to MWJDS, 29 Upper Joclyn Ave., Framingham, MA 01701.
