At MWJDS, we feel a strong link to Hebrew, Israel and the Jewish community. Each class is named after one of the seven species of Israel.
“…a land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig-trees and pomegranates; a land of olive-trees and honey” ~ Deut. 8:8
A class receives a name in Kindergarten that stays with it, as a foundation for the identify of that community, throughout its career at MWJDS. In the 2012 – 2013 school year, we celebrate all our classes:
- Kindergarten Hitah (wheat)

- First Grade Se’orah (barley)
- Second Grade Gefen (grapes)
- Third Grade Tamar (dates)
- Fourth Grade Zayit (olives)
- Fifth Grade Rimon (pomegranates)
As well as our Middle School Atid classes: Sixth Grade Te’enah (figs) & Eighth Grade Hitah (wheat)
